
Everton pre-agree £21.6m permanent signing in stunning deadline day swoop by David Moyes
David Moyes has been keen to add to his Everton squad before the transfer window closes.
The Scotsman have overseen plenty of departures throughout the window, with replacements yet to be brought in.
Everton were said to be keen on a midfielder, with Abdoulaye Doucoure’s exit still leaving a hole in the squad.
Now, with the 7pm deadline looming, Moyes is looking to finalise multiple deals before the time runs out.

Everton and Freiburg agree loan with option to buy for Merlin Rohl
Everton have been heavily linked with Merlin Rohl on deadline day.
The midfielder is believed to have high potential, and has impressed in the Bundesliga at 23 years old.
Now, Everton are hoping to finalise the deal for Rohl before 7pm, with the Freiburg star currently in Merseyside.

- Rohl has also played in the Europa League with Freiburg and scored during his eight appearances
As a result, according to Sky Sports reporter Dennis Bayer via X on 1 September, the two clubs have now reached an agreement to send Rohl on loan to the Toffees, which includes a £21.6million option to buy.
While it is not a done deal yet, with contracts needing to be signed, it could be a stunning swoop for Moyes.
What can Merlin Rohl bring to Everton?
According Fotmob on 1 September, much of Rohl’s stats from the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign are impressive.
The midfielder is clearly good at defending, and can also influence the attacking side of the game.

As a result, Moyes will be no doubt delighted if he can get the transfer over the line before the deadline as the 23-year-old could prove to be a bargain in the coming months.
