Everton starlet who left on deadline day has already scored and assisted for his new club

Everton sanctioned departures for several players in the closing days of the summer transfer window.

Harrison Armstrong joined Preston North End on loan on deadline day, after it became clear that Everton would sign Merlin Rohl from SC Freiburg.

Tyler Onyango joined Stockport County on loan, after the 22-year-old had spent the second half of last season with the Hatters.

Everton sold Youssef Chermiti to Rangers, with the striker joining the Scottish Premiership club for a fee that could rise to £10million.

David Moyes had hoped to see a new defender arrive at the club, but the Toffees ultimately decided against dipping back into the market.

Isaac Heath scores on Accrington Stanley debut

Isaac Heath impressed for Everton in pre-season, but decision-makers at the Hill Dickinson Stadium ultimately decided a loan move would be better for his development.

The winger is highly thought of at the Toffees, winning the Under-21 Player of the Season award last season and signing a new two-year contract at the club in July.

A pacey forward, Heath bagged six direct goal contributions in Premier League 2, and was considered ready for a loan to the lower leagues.

League Two club Accrington Stanley won the race on transfer deadline day, and the 20-year-old has got off to the best possible start.

Selected to start against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, Heath scored his first-ever professional goal just three minutes into his debut – dribbling from within his own half to power into the roof of the net.

And just 29 minutes later, the talent would beat his man on the wing and deliver a perfect cut-back to Alex Henderson, picking up an assist.

Isaac Heath’s stats on Accrington Stanley debut

Direct goal contributions aside, Heath impressed massively on his debut for Accrington Stanley.

A fear always experienced by parent clubs when loaning out their young talents is that the player will not adapt to the League’s physicality, and ultimately spend much of the season on the bench.

But that does not appear like it will be a problem when it comes to Heath, with the winger instantly demonstrating his ability to perform against League One opposition.

The winger completed five successful dribbles on debut, created three chances, and found his man with an impressive 94% of his passes.

And in the tackle, Heath was strong, winning over half of his ground duels. It is early days for the youngster, but Everton may be forced into a scenario where they end up retrieving the forward and loaning him to a League One club in January.
