Gary Lineker not surprised by what he’s seen from Everton ace – and it’s not Jack Grealish
Jack Grealish has started his Everton career in brilliant form.
Grealish joined Everton on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City after a rough couple of seasons under Pep Guardiola.
He has notched four assists already in his time with the Hill Dickinson Stadium outfit, and many observers believe that David Moyes has already dragged the best out of him.
Grealish was the star of the show in Everton’s 3-2 win over Wolves, but one of his teammates may have overshadowed his performance.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall earns rave reviews from Gary Lineker
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also starred for Everton since joining in a £25million deal from Chelsea earlier in the summer.
The former Leicester man scored a stunning effort in the victory over the Old Gold, and his displays for the Blues have left Gary Lineker stunned.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast on 1 September, he said: “Good start too for Dewsbury-Hall there as well.”
Lineker started signing ‘he’s one of our own’ as he originally came from the club that he supports, Leicester City, then said: “Well, he was until we had to sell him because of PSR to Chelsea.
“Where he didn’t really get a look in at all, understandably because their squad is incredible, but he’s a very talented player and he has got a great work ethic on the pitch, so I am not surprised he has done well.”

Everton can rely on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to step up
Dewsbury-Hall is a class operator, and it is a huge shame that he was not given a real chance to show that at Chelsea.
He is a creative asset for Moyes, and the link-up that he has already formed with Grealish could go a long way to determining where Everton finish this season.
- Dewsbury-Hall featured just 13 times in the Premier League last season for a total of 259 minutes
- Started just twice for Enzo Maresca’s side
- Notched just one assist in those 13 matches
The Opta supercomputer has predicted an 11th-place finish for Everton, but if that duo keep performing, then there is every chance that the Toffees can exceed expectations.
The only issue might be whether the Blues can keep hold of him in the long run, because he is a top-class player.
They will hope that Dewsbury-Hall’s performances go under the radar to the wider audience, while Grealish is getting all of the hype for his redemption arc, after a miserable time in Manchester.
Whether they can avoid his displays going mainstream and alerting bigger clubs remains to be seen, but right now, Moyes and the 26-year-old will want to keep it going.
